About me

Salut,

My name is Pia Backmann, and I started working as a Postdoc at the Chair of Forest Biometry and Forest Systems Analysis in May 2018.

I am a physicist and ecologist by training and most of the time I do research as a modeler a the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ -in Leipzig (http://www.ufz.de) and at the TU Dresden (Chair of Forest Biometry and Forest Systems Analysis, Tharandt).

My main focus is forest modelling, especially Monodominance in tropical forests.

Recently, I have written a book. If you are interested in alternative high fantasy stories, then see here 🙂

That's me, Pia Backmann
